40-Bed Facility Expands Access to Specialized Care in the Milwaukee Region
Birmingham, Ala. – The Sanders Trust, one of the nation’s leading healthcare real estate investment and development companies, is pleased to announce the completion of Rehabilitation Hospital of Oak Creek, developed in partnership with Lifepoint Rehabilitation, an operating division of Lifepoint Health.
The newly completed 58,000-square-foot hospital features 40 private patient beds and was purposefully designed to provide specialized rehabilitation services for patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, complex neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, multiple trauma injuries, amputations and other debilitating illnesses or injuries.

Developed by The Sanders Trust, the state-of-the-art facility includes a dedicated brain injury unit, multidisciplinary therapy gymnasiums, a specialized activities of daily living suite and outdoor courtyards designed to encourage patient mobility and recovery in a therapeutic environment.
“The completion of this rehabilitation hospital represents another important milestone in our mission to develop healthcare facilities that improve lives and strengthen communities,” said Rance Sanders, President and CEO of The Sanders Trust. “We are pleased to partner with Lifepoint Rehabilitation to bring expanded access to high quality rehabilitative care to patients and families throughout the Milwaukee region. This facility was thoughtfully designed to support healing, independence and recovery, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have for years to come.”
Lifepoint Rehabilitation will operate the hospital, bringing its personalized inpatient rehabilitation care model to Oak Creek. The facility will provide comprehensive rehabilitation services delivered by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses and therapists focused on helping patients regain function and return to their daily lives as quickly and safely as possible.
Located at 7840 South Highgate Avenue in Oak Creek, the hospital expands access to specialized rehabilitation care for communities throughout southeastern Wisconsin and reinforces the region’s growing healthcare infrastructure.
The Sanders Trust partnered with Brasfield & Gorrie as general contractor and Earl Swensson Associates, Inc. (ESa) as architect to bring the project to completion.
