Birmingham, Ala. – The Sanders Trust, one of the nation’s leading healthcare real estate investment and development companies, is pleased to announce the completion of its expansion of Serenity at Summit New England (“Serenity”), an addiction treatment center located near Boston. Serenity provides the clinical and medical services, structure, support and counseling necessary for addicted individuals to stop using alcohol and drugs and to prevent relapse.
Serenity initially opened in November 2015, and in 2019, The Sanders Trust completed the initial real estate acquisition of the facility. The recent expansion project for Serenity included the complete renovation of an adjacent four-story building to add 20 more beds and additional outpatient programs. Serenity now occupies over 44,000 square feet with 61 patient beds at this location in Haverhill, MA.
“The Sanders Trust is proud to work with Serenity in developing this much needed expansion,” stated Rance Sanders, President and CEO of The Sanders Trust. “The project required converting an existing, vacant four story structure on the campus which included all new mechanical and electrical system upgrades along with total build-out of the vacant shell. The expansion will help Serenity to continue to serve the Haverhill/Boston communities and surrounding areas.”
The property is operated by Summit Behavioral Health, a subsidiary of Delphi Behavioral Health Group. Delphi is a leading substance abuse treatment provider within a rapidly-expanding behavioral market throughout the United States.
Serenity at Summit New England is located at 61 Brown Street in Haverhill, Massachusetts, a suburb north of Boston along the historic Merrimack River. The Sanders Trust worked with BKA Architects out of Boston, and Pimentel Construction of Wilmington, MD to complete the expansion project.
