Birmingham, Ala. – The Sanders Trust, one of the nation’s leading healthcare real estate investment companies, announces the ground breaking for the expansion of Serenity at Summit New England (“Serenity”), a behavioral health center located near Boston.
The expansion project for Serenity includes the complete renovation of an adjacent building to add 20 more beds in 18,700 square feet. The four-story building redevelopment will allow Serenity to increase their existing capacity for both their inpatient and outpatient programs.
In 2019, The Sanders Trust completed the initial real estate acquisition of Serenity at Summit New England, the 25,455 square foot, 41-bed facility that provides medically supervised drug detox and alcohol addiction treatment in Haverhill, MA. Serenity provides the clinical and medical services, structure, support and counseling necessary for addicted individuals to stop using alcohol and drugs and to prevent relapse.
The property is operated by Summit Behavioral Health, a subsidiary of Delphi Behavioral Health Group. Delphi is a leading substance abuse treatment provider within a rapidly expanding behavioral market throughout the United States.
“The Sanders Trust looks forward to completing the expansion of this high-quality treatment center to provide additional support and recovery options for those in need,” stated Rance M. Sanders, President and CEO of The Sanders Trust.
Serenity at Summit New England is located at 61 Brown Street in Haverhill, Massachusetts, a suburb north of Boston along the historic Merrimack River. The Sanders Trust is working with BKA Architects out of Boston, and Pimentel Construction of Wilmington, MD to complete the expansion. The projected completion date for construction is October 2020.
