Birmingham, Ala. – The Sanders Trust, one of the nation’s leading healthcare real estate investment and development companies, is pleased to announce the grand opening of North Florida Rehabilitation Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. This is the region’s first free-standing inpatient rehabilitation facility west of the St. Johns River.

The Sanders Trust was selected as the developer of the 60,000-square-foot facility that features 50 beds. The hospital was structurally designed to create a therapeutic environment for patients and is outfitted with leading-edge amenities and adaptive units, including a 12-bed brain injury unit, multidisciplinary therapy gymnasiums, a specialized “activities of daily living” suite, and outdoor courtyards designed to promote patient ambulation and activity.

The hospital is operated by Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a business unit of Lifepoint Health. Lifepoint Rehabilitation brings its personalized inpatient care model to the new facility, focusing on acute rehabilitation and recovery for patients who suffer from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, complex neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, multiple traumas, amputation and other injuries or disorders. “The Sanders Trust is delighted to celebrate the grand opening of North Florida Rehabilitation Hospital,” states Rance Sanders, President and CEO of The Sanders Trust. “We are grateful for our partnership with Lifepoint Health and their commitment to providing exceptional care. This hospital will greatly enhance the quality of life for those it serves.”

North Florida Rehabilitation Hospital is located at 7775 Volunteer Way, Jacksonville, Florida, 32221. The Sanders Trust worked with general contractor JE Dunn Construction, Nashville, and architect Earl Swensson Associates, Inc., Nashville.
