Birmingham, Ala. – The Sanders Trust, one of the nation’s leading healthcare real estate investment and development companies, is pleased to announce the recent groundbreaking for a new $44 million behavioral health hospital, Mercy Health Behavioral Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio.

The Sanders Trust was selected as the developer of the 61,900-square-foot behavioral health hospital, which will include 72 beds. The hospital will provide inpatient and outpatient treatment, including a partial hospitalization program and an intensive outpatient program, for adults and geriatric patients experiencing a broad range of mental health illnesses, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, psychosis, personality disorders, and mental health concerns accompanied by substance abuse.

This project is a joint venture partnership between Mercy Health – Youngstown and Lifepoint Behavioral Health. Mercy Health Behavioral Hospital will be architecturally designed to create a therapeutic environment for patients, featuring open, airy spaces with amenities that include spacious patient rooms, community areas, outside courtyards, and state-of-the-art clinical spaces to support the needs of patients and families.
