Two-Story, 40-Bed Hospital Serves Patients Across Northeast Wisconsin
Birmingham, Ala. – The Sanders Trust, one of the nation’s leading healthcare real estate investment and development companies, is pleased to announce the recent completion of the new Hospital Sisters Health System | Rehabilitation Hospital in Howard, Wisconsin.
Developed by The Sanders Trust and operated through a joint venture partnership between Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) and Lifepoint Rehabilitation, an operating division of Lifepoint Health, the newly completed two-story, 62,000-square-foot inpatient rehabilitation hospital expands access to specialized rehabilitative care throughout Northeast Wisconsin.
Located on South Taylor Street near HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center, the 40-bed facility was designed specifically to support patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, amputations, and other complex medical events.

The Sanders Trust also holds a special connection to Green Bay through its longstanding relationship with the late Packers legend Bart Starr and his family. Rance Sanders, founder and CEO of The Sanders Trust, and Bart Starr Jr. were college roommates at the University of Alabama before launching Starr Sanders Properties along with Bart, Sr. in 1989. Though the Starr family no longer holds an ownership stake, Bart Starr Jr. has remained a longtime investor and advisor to The Sanders Trust. The company continues to honor the late Bart Starr Sr.’s legacy, noting him as a “colleague, mentor, business partner, and most of all, a friend.”
The Sanders Trust partnered with general contractor Findorff and architect ESa (Earl Swensson Associates) to bring this hospital to life.
